More family picture scans! I am not done, but here's the first batch.

EDIT: Oops! I realized while looking at some other, better photos that the younger man in the photo with my great-grandmother is her older brother. That's been corrected and a photo of her real husband has been added. In addition, I've added some details that my mother gave me.

First, two pictures that I have no clue about. Yay!

As mentioned, I don't know where this was taken or anything about it, save that it's obviously a general store. I just like it. EDIT: My mother believes this was an old store here where my great-grandmother worked.

Second verse, same as the first. I wish this photo wasn't damaged, because it looks effectively creepy. Maybe it's the hats.

The next one, I'm not entirely sure about but if I had to guess, I believe this may be my great-great-grandparents. The woman looks like my great-grandmother (my maternal grandmother's mother) and I can see a resemblance between the man in this photo and her father. Either way, I like it.

This is my great-grandmother herself. On the right is her father and on the left, her brother. I still meant everything I said about her husband, though.

The photo was tinted, which, like wearing an onion on one's belt, was the style at the time. The method left a lot to be desired, as you'll see in this close-up, in which it looks like my great grandfather uncle's makeup gun was set on "whore":

And for real this time, my great-grandmother and her husband. Yeah, he's my great-grandfather but I don't have to throw a parade about it. Again, he was: much older than her, the chief of police and a giant douche. And my mother informs me that he most certainly was a part of the kuklos. Lawd. (Spoiler alert: He dies in the upcoming sequel.)

Hey, everyone! It's The Man! Don't worry, darlin'--everything's all white. [Back row, far left is actually my great-grandmother's brother, my...great grand-uncle. Whew.]

Oh, but wait. I don't know who back row, far right thinks he's fooling. Enhance!

...many of the present-day [Echota] tribe members descended from people who either returned to the East after their removal or hid in the area for years, hiding their true identities to avoid removal. Many claimed to be "Black Dutch" to assimilate in white society. While they managed to stay closer to their original homes, much of their language and customs have been lost. Mm-hmm. We can smell our own. [True story: I was walking out of a convenience store one day when a woman walking in asked me if I were indigenous. ("Yes, I grow by the highway.") It was actually the man with her that wanted her to ask; he was/is Muscogee. It was kind of weird--I've had people ask me a lot of questions about my name, my ethnicity, etc and it was surprising to have someone be right.]

I am totes going to do my hair like this today! [That's my grandmother, by the way. Mom says this is her engagement photo.]

If I ever take a picture this good, I will carry it around with me everywhere. Badow! Mom says this is her high school graduation photo. She was 16.

I know I've said this before, but you're the spittin' image of your grandma. I love the one of your (probable) great-greats.

oh, I love this stuff! I want to do this sometime for my family- I mostly just want an excuse to bother my cousins and aunts and uncles for their old photos.

OMG I LOVE DELTA BLUES. Unfortunately, I haven't seen it in stores around Austin recently- I think it's been around a year since I had some.

I was driving to a funeral with my sister a couple of weeks ago and we passed through Brenham, notable only because it is home of the Blue Bell factory. Hand to God, we were thisclose to stopping and taking the hour-long tour so we could get some free ice cream. Sure we were sad, but homegirls needed some ice cream. They have every flavor they've ever made available at the factory, so if you're ever in Texas make Brenham a priority.

I just checked out bluebell.com and I'm not sure if they still make Delta Blues, however, one new flavor (Southern Blackberry Cobbler) sounds pretty similar.

Sorry about the novel- I just RILLY. RILLY. love Blue Bell. So, in answer to your question: N.

But if you ever see the 4H club's Centennial Cupcake give it a try- I love it.

No, I meant y/n on if you liked it. It's in stores--I saw it at Walmart last week. Unfortunately, they had it only in the biggun and that's way too much for me to tackle on my own, so I got a pint of chocolate-covered strawberry. That's weird that it doesn't seem to be on the website. I do notice that Birthday Cake is out this month, but I haven't seen it.

I've been wanting to try the 4H flavor, though, so that may be an excellent substitute.

Ohhh, I see, haha. I don't ever see it around here when I'm grocery shopping, but I'll keep a closer eye out for it now that I know it still exists. And I haven't seen chocolate-covered strawberries recently either! Alabama is so lucky. Texas: nous sommes tres jaloux.
