Each piece of grass whispered to the other...

I gave my sister horns.

Oh! Wisdom from my sister:

K: Yeah, she's in a wheelchair, so they're going to have to like, accessorize her or whatever.
Me: They're going to have to what?
K: Whatever.

This child graduated from high school with honors and a scholarship. Yeah.

I wrote this great (and long) entry about the creepy woman that's stalking me, but some superfan's image-intensive website made my computer have a tantrum and I lost it. Bah. Them.

I'll rewrite it later because she is creeptacular and I think some of y'all could use the laugh. At least whatshisargyle isn't obsessively studying everything our Princess says. Meepsh.

Aw, Thea would rock the horns!

When we went on family roadtrips when she was really little, we always had to listen to her tapes. All of those stories and songs are burned into my cerebrum. There was one story about a king's advisor who learned the king's secret. He couldn't keep it in any longer so one day he walked as far as he could, got on the ground, dug a hole, and whispered the secret inside. Then, he walked back to the kingdom. But what he didn't know is that "each piece of grass whispered to the other, 'The king of Togo Togo has two horns.'" So by the time he got back to the kingdom, everyone knew the secret.

So that was our tribute. Sharon, Lois, and Bram owe me that space in my brain back.

the king of togo togo has 2 horns

I just happened across this. I have been looking for this tape - it is one of my daughter's favorite songs, and I can't find my tape. Does anybody have a copy, or know where I can find one, or, at least, find all the words.

Thanks

I've found this videotape where Laura Simms tells a slightly different version of the story (he's not the king and he has donkey ears). The tape my sister listened to was a Sharon, Lois, and Bram tape, if I recall correctly, but I haven't found it yet. I need to make sure.

I don't think the original was a Sharon, Lois and Bram tape, but I haven't had the opportunity to check it out. You would think we would be able to find it somewhere. I may contact the country itself and see if it is folklore. Thanks for your help.
